Poor hygiene is one of the primary causes of illness for many people around the globe. With that said, we must admit that some of us don't always clean our hot and cold water dispenser. As a result, germs and diseases spread much further.
Drinking water dispensers are now one of the most dependable sources of supply. It can be found in our homes, workplaces, churches, gyms, and restaurants, to name a few places. Knowing how to clean water dispensers will help prevent the buildup of filth and the spread of illnesses.
The good news is that we can make it a practice to clean our high-end water dispensers, particularly when it's time to replace the previous bottle. You'll always find it a lot easier to remember if you do it this way.
CLEANING PREPARATION
Here are a few things to keep in mind before you start cleaning:
- When conducting any maintenance on your water dispenser, always read and follow the manufacturer's user handbook. Coolers' parts and inner workings differ depending on the brand and model, so consult the manual to avoid damage.
- Before cleaning the water cooler, make sure it's empty. To do this correctly and safely, consult the user handbook.
- Before taking any actions to empty the water tanks, make sure the hot water reservoir tank has cooled.
- When cleaning your water cooler dispenser, it's critical to disconnect the power connection from the socket. It will eliminate the risk of electrocution throughout the cleaning process.
Preparing the Cleaning Solution
You'll have to decide on the best cleaning solution for you. You have the option of using bleach or vinegar.
It's critical to understand that the final cleaning quality is unaffected by the cleaning solution. Rather, it's a test of your ability to follow directions.
The only thing you'll think about is the aroma. Bleach may cause allergic reactions in certain people. The odor of vinegar solution puts others off.
We recommend that you clean with soap or other chemicals. The reason for this is that they can affect the flavor of the water for an extended period.
How To Make Your Cleaning Solution
- BLEACH SOLUTION: To clean your water dispenser, create a bleach solution. Use 1 gallon of water and a tablespoon of chlorine bleach (unscented). Stir until everything is well combined. Wear a hand glove or other hand protective covering to prevent it from spilling on your clothes or shoes.
- VINEGAR SOLUTION: Fill your bucket with water to make a clean water dispenser using a vinegar solution. After that, pour in a single quart of vinegar. Make an effort to mix the solution thoroughly.
CLEANING PROCESS
Top Load Hot and Cold Water Dispenser
1. Turn off the water cooler.
Remove the water cooler from the electrical outlet and let the hot water reservoir cool to confirm that the water dispenser is safe to sanitize.
2. Clean the water bottle holder after removing the water bottle.
Remove the water bottle and check the water bottle holder and valve for any mildew or buildup.
3. Wipe the surface using a microfiber cloth.
Dip a clean microfiber cloth into a cleaning solution and wipe it gently. You can use a baking soda and water paste to remove stubborn buildup.
4. Remove the water guard and clean it.
Clean the water guard using the cleaning solution. Rinse it and lay it aside to dry after washing it with the solution.
5. Take out the drip guard and clean it (if applicable).
Follow the same procedures as the water guard. If the drip tray does not release from the water dispenser, wipe it clean with a microfiber towel soaked in the cleaning solution.
6. Clean the reservoirs of water.
Pour the remaining cleaning mixture into the water dispensers' reservoirs when you're ready to disinfect the hot and cold water reservoirs. Allow 15 minutes for the cleaning solution to rest before distributing it from the taps. To ensure clean spigots on both options, switch dispensing the cleaning solution from the hot and cold water taps.
7. Make sure your water dispenser is clean.
Once all cleaning solutions have been delivered from the water dispenser, fill the reservoirs with water to flush out any remaining vinegar or bleach. If there is still a vinegar or bleach flavor, rinse the device with two or more liters of water.
Reinstall the water guard and drip tray once you completely wash the water dispenser. Connect the water cooler to the new, refilled water bottle and allow the water to be heated and cooled.

WHY KEEP YOUR WATER DISPENSER CLEAN?
Minerals from your water supply accumulate over time, leaving a white or brown deposit on colder surfaces. This deposit might make its way into your water if you won't clean your cooler, ruining the taste.
Microbes can be discovered in unsanitized refrigerators, despite their rarity, due to the humid climate.
It's simple to keep your water from becoming contaminated. It will maintain your water's purity if you clean your cooler thoroughly every three to six months (based on consumption). When you're ready to replace your water bottle or filtration system, clean your water dispenser first.

Cleaning your hot and cold water dispenser removes mineral deposits, disinfects, and deodorizes it. It gives you peace of mind that you're consuming clean, safe, and premium quality water in each glass. Furthermore, cleaning your water cooler takes only around 30 minutes every three months.
